Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski is gaining more and more fans by the second - and not just because of his dominance on the mound.

The flamethrower made a Brewers fan's year after a chance encounter over Memorial Day weekend. Seven-year-old Aaron Shorey, an enthusiastic Misiorowski superfan, visited a Milwaukee card store with his dad in hopes of finding cards of his favorite player - only to run into the man himself.

"I said to Aaron, 'Wouldn't it be cool if we saw The Miz there?'" Ryan Shorey, Aaron's dad, told Karley Marotta of TMJ4 News. "We walked right up to the door, and we looked inside, and there's 6-foot-7 Jacob Misiorowski."

After overcoming the initial shock of the moment, Aaron asked his hero for an autographed Misiorowski card if one showed up in his new pack. The pitcher not only agreed but also bought the new box for Aaron. Moments later, the youngster found what he was looking for in one of the packs, and the All-Star signed the card on the spot.

The experience left both father and son even more impressed by the 24-year-old than they had been before meeting him.

"It was kind of like he already knew him," Ryan said about Misiorowski's interaction with his son. "He wasn't in a rush. He treated Aaron like he was the star."

Misiorowski has made no secret of his card-collecting hobby since breaking into the majors last year. However, his latest trip to the hobby shop seems to have impacted him as well.

"Pulling myself out of the pack and signing it for him was really cool," he told Marotta.

It's no surprise that Misiorowski's autograph is heavily sought after, given his rapid ascent to superstardom. He's arguably been the best pitcher in baseball during his first full big-league season, sporting a 1.65 ERA along with an MLB-best 0.79 WHIP and 108 strikeouts across 12 starts.
