Bronny James isn't too bothered about not sharing the Los Angeles Lakers locker room with his dad anymore.
"Feels like he's not here," the 23-year-old said Monday when asked about his first media day and season without LeBron James as a teammate. "I don't really have an opinion on that.
"That's my dad. I spent almost 22 years with him. Just another experience that I'm going to be a part of, and I'm excited (for) how it's going to feel during the season, too. So, looking forward it."
Bronny has alternated time between the Lakers and their G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers (formerly known as the South Bay Lakers), throughout his career. He made 42 appearances for JJ Redick's squad last season but averaged just 8.9 minutes, the fewest out of anyone who played at least 30 games with L.A. in 2025-26.
Redick, however, is expecting big things as the former USC guard continues to develop.
"That guy's good," the Lakers head coach said Thursday on ESPN LA. "He's a good basketball player. We're excited to have him and we're excited to coach him this year."
Bronny is under contract with the Lakers through the upcoming season. Los Angeles signed him to a four-year deal as a rookie after selecting him 55th overall in the 2024 draft. Bronny's contract contains a team option worth $2.5 million for next season.
LeBron, 41, signed a two-year, $8-million deal this summer to switch coasts and join the Philadelphia 76ers after eight seasons in L.A. He and Bronny became the first father-son duo ever to take the court together in an NBA game during the latter's NBA debut on Oct. 23, 2024.
