Providence will fire third-year head coach Kim English at the end of the 2025-26 season, sources told CBS Sports' Matt Norlander.

The 37-year-old English led the Friars to a 14-16 record ahead of their season finale against Georgetown on Saturday, in which he'll face former Providence coach Ed Cooley.

Providence hired English after he guided George Mason to a 34-29 record over two seasons. Athletic director Steve Napolillo, who made the hire, will conduct the search for English's replacement, per Norlander.

Providence owns a 47-50 overall record, including a 20-36 mark in Big East play, in English's three seasons at the helm. The Friars narrowly missed out on a berth in the NCAA Tournament in his first year, finishing the 2023-24 campaign with a 21-14 mark. However, English hasn't gotten the program back to the March Madness bubble in the following two seasons.

Despite earning a top-60 win over St. John's on the road in January, Providence owns a 7-12 record in conference play entering Saturday's finale.
