Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor isn't expected to play in Saturday's game against LSU after being downgraded to doubtful on the SEC's availability report.

Taylor has been dealing with turf toe since a win over Missouri on Sept. 26. He was visibly hobbled in an Oct. 3 loss to Alabama that remains the Bulldogs' only defeat through five games this season.

Mississippi State will also likely be without starting running back Fluff Bothwell on Saturday as he deals with a lower-body injury, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Taylor has starred for the Bulldogs in his sophomore season, completing 66.2% of his passes for 1,450 yards and 17 touchdowns and only four interceptions. He's added 159 yards and a score on the ground.

Legendary former Alabama coach Nick Saban praised his development in late September, asserting that Taylor has the "right stuff" to compete as a quarterback at a high level.
