Utah took control in the second half of this year's Holy War rivalry to defeat BYU 28-20 on Saturday and remain undefeated.
The back-and-forth affair saw the Utes score the first 14 points only to trail 20-14 at half after a furious Cougars rally. However, the Utah defense shut out the Cougars in the second half, and Devon Dampier threw a touchdown pass and ran for a touchdown to put the hosts back in front.
With under five minutes left, BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier threw a crucial red-zone interception as the Cougars looked for the tying score.

BYU would get the ball back in the final seconds, but Bachmeier's heave to the end zone would be intercepted again - his fourth of the game - to deliver Utah its 15th straight win.

After beating Notre Dame on Oct. 17 to reach 6-0 on the season, BYU has now lost two of its last three contests and sits at 7-2. The Cougars will look to bounce back at home against Baylor next week.
Dampier had a stellar contest and has jumped into the Heisman race. The senior quarterback threw for 177 yards, rushed for 87 yards, and posted four total touchdowns. He also added a 29-yard reception on a trick play that Utah converted on 4th down.
Utah will look to remain undefeated when it travels to face No. 22 Arizona on Nov. 14.
