Veteran receiver Brandon Aiyuk took several more not-so-subtle shots at the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday as his relationship with the team continues to deteriorate.

"You want to know why they really mad, though? They mad because they (are) stupid. They dumb," Aiyuk said in a video posted to Instagram. "They mad because they paid me $50 million in eight months and then voided my guarantees for 2027. And I'm about to be on a new team in 2027. They mad at (themselves) for real."

The 49ers actually voided the 2026 guarantees in Aiyuk's contract after he skipped rehab sessions related to a right knee injury that ended his 2024 campaign.

Aiyuk's latest comments come two days after he broke his silence on social media about his ongoing standoff with the Niners. Although he didn't mention the team by name Sunday either, the details of the situation he described were similar to his own.

The standout wide receiver has teased the idea of joining the Washington Commanders. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is one of Aiyuk's close friends dating back to their time together at Arizona State.

Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120-million extension with the 49ers in August 2024. The deal included $45 million guaranteed at signing and a $76-million total guaranteed package, according to Over the Cap.

The Niners placed the 2020 first-round pick on the reserve/left team list in December after Aiyuk stopped showing up to the team facility. General manager John Lynch said in January that the disgruntled receiver had played his last snap for the franchise.

The 49ers have no firm deadline regarding a potential release or trade since he remains on the reserve/left squad list. Aiyuk would need to submit a letter to the NFL and team requesting reinstatement, per The Athletic's Matt Barrows.

Aiyuk posted a career-high 1,342 receiving yards on 75 catches for seven touchdowns in 2023. He hasn't returned to the field since tearing his ACL, MCL, and meniscus in October 2024.
