Report: Bears' Burden expected to miss time due to groin injury

Chicago Bears receiver Luther Burden III is expected to miss a little bit of time after sustaining a groin injury in Saturday's practice, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Burden got tangled up with cornerback Tyrique Stevenson on the final rep of of a one-on-one drill while the defensive back broke up a pass from Caleb Williams, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

Burden was able to walk off the field under his own power following the play, but did not return for the remainder of practice. Stevenson, who landed on his back and remained on the ground for several minutes, was able to rejoin team drills after receiving treatment on the sideline.

It's unclear how much time Burden could potentially miss.

The Missouri product showed flashes of his potential during his rookie campaign with 47 catches for 652 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games.

It is the latest injury in a training camp filled with them for Chicago. Safety Coby Bryant is expected to be sidelined for 8-10 weeks after hyperextending left knee and suffering a bone bruise in practice. Cam Lewis, who was filling in for Bryant, left practice on Saturday with an undisclosed ailment.

Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen said that Lewis' injury wasn't serious, but didn't provide any details on his return timeline.
