Dallas Cowboys running back Malik Davis will undergo hip surgery and be placed on injured reserve, sources told ESPN's Todd Archer.

Davis was injured in practice Friday.

Davis was set to begin 2026 as the Cowboys' backup rusher. He appeared in 10 games last season, registering 250 yards and two touchdowns on 52 carries.

Javonte Williams and Emari Demercado are the only other running backs listed on Dallas' depth chart.

The Cowboys missed the playoffs last year after going 7-9-1. They'll open their 2026 regular season Sunday night against the New York Giants.
