After the Las Vegas Raiders dropped their fourth game in a row Sunday, everything is on the table - including a quarterback change - for head coach Klint Kubiak.
The Raiders started the season 3-0 but fell to 3-4 with a 35-21 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams. Starting quarterback Kirk Cousins finished the game with two touchdowns and no interceptions, though both of his scores came early in the fourth quarter after the Raiders fell behind 28-6.
"We have to go watch the film," Kubiak said postgame, according to ESPN's Ryan McFadden. "I think at this point, we're thinking about everything to fix our problems, how to fix our issues in the red zone, in the third quarter, personnel, (and) scheme. We've got to talk about all of it."
Cousins, 38, has thrown a league-leading 16 touchdown passes to five interceptions, but he's cooled off since opening the season with three passing scores in three straight games.
The veteran said he was willing to step aside if the team believes it makes sense to change things up - which could mean starting No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza.
"I want the football team to have the best chance to win games," Cousins said.
The Raiders drafted Mendoza first overall in the 2026 draft with the hopes he could be their franchise quarterback. However, the team planned to take a patient approach and wanted Mendoza to sit behind a veteran to start his career.
So far, Mendoza has completed six of his eight NFL passes for 48 yards, though this came in mop-up duty near the end of a 45-17 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 5.
The Raiders play the 2-5 New York Jets in Week 8.
