Montreal Canadiens defenseman Lane Hutson appeared to be feeling the effects of a hard hit from Carolina Hurricanes forward Taylor Hall in overtime of Game 2 on Saturday.

Hutson was slow to get up after the hit. He stayed on the ice momentarily before making his way to the bench. Nikolaj Ehlers scored the OT winner for Carolina on the next shift.
Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis wasn't asked about Hutson by reporters in his postgame media availability.
Hutson has been the engine of Montreal's offensive attack this postseason, leading the team in ice time and ranking second behind captain Nick Suzuki with 14 points in 16 games. His 12 assists are the most among all NHL defensemen in the 2026 playoffs.
