The Vegas Golden Knights are re-signing defenseman Jeremy Lauzon to a six-year contract with a $4-million cap hit, reports TSN's Pierre LeBrun.
Lauzon was set to become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday.
The 29-year-old had one goal, 13 points, and 89 penalty minutes in 68 games last season, his first with the Golden Knights. Lauzon played in 12 playoff contests, including all six games of the Stanley Cup Final, but didn't register a point.
Lauzon has registered 761 hits in 175 games since 2023, which leads all NHL defensemen.
The Golden Knights acquired Lauzon, forward Colton Sissons, and a third-round pick from the Nashville Predators for defenseman Nicolas Hague one year ago.
Lauzon has 15 goals, 58 points, and 442 penalty minutes in 384 career games with the Boston Bruins, Seattle Kraken, Predators, and Golden Knights.
Vegas has $3.375 million of cap space after signing Lauzon, according to PuckPedia.
