Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand will be out six weeks due to a lower-body injury, head coach Paul Maurice confirmed Friday, according to team reporter Jameson Olive.

Marchand will resume skating in three weeks, Maurice added.

The 38-year-old sustained the injury Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings.

Marchand has recorded one goal in two games. He missed the Panthers' first two contests of the year while recovering from offseason surgery for an undisclosed injury.

Florida is also without captain Aleksander Barkov until late November due to a lower-body injury.

Marchand tallied 27 goals and 54 points in 52 contests last season, though his campaign was cut short in March due to a lower-body injury. He also represented Canada at the Olympics in February, winning a silver medal.

The Panthers are 2-0-2 to begin the campaign. Florida missed the playoffs last season while navigating numerous injuries after winning back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2024 and 2025.
