Islanders head coach Pete DeBoer said Friday that Horvat is still being evaluated. New York returns to action Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Horvat leads the club with four goals and five points through four games. The Islanders named him captain in September.
This marks Nazar's first NHL suspension. He'll sit out contests against the Carolina Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Penguins before becoming eligible to return Oct. 15 against the Winnipeg Jets.
Nazar's collected three points in five games this season. He registered a career-high 41 points in 66 appearances in 2025-26.
