The biggest signing in the history of LIV Golf won't be a part of the revamped league when it moves forward next year.
Jon Rahm's representatives confirmed during a bankruptcy hearing Wednesday that the three-time individual champion is opting out of LIV 2.0 on account of him finding the terms of the new circuit "unacceptable."
"Mr. Rahm has independently reviewed the proposed terms of LIV 2.0...and has determined that those terms are unacceptable to him, and he will not be participating going forward in LIV 2.0." @TheAthletic

Rahm was widely expected not to continue with LIV after being listed as the largest creditor in the league's bankruptcy filing in September. According to Brody Miller and Gabby Herzig of The Athletic, Rahm and the league are working to finalize a separation agreement by Oct. 15.
While he may be done with LIV, an immediate return to the PGA Tour doesn't seem likely. Rahm had a chance to rejoin the organization earlier this year under the same clause Brooks Koepka took advantage of, but he opted to remain with LIV. The Tour declined to comment on Rahm's situation while he was under contract with LIV.
He's likely to spend at least a year playing on the DP World Tour before a potential return stateside.
The Spaniard's signing was a massive coup for LIV in December 2023, considering he'd long spoken out publicly against the Saudi-backed circuit. LIV eventually convinced him to jump ship by offering a contract worth at least $350 million.
While Rahm experienced great success on LIV in both individual and team play, his play in major championships dipped once he made the move. Despite turning in four top-10 showings in majors over his three years with LIV, he only delivered one top-five finish.
In his final three years on the PGA Tour, Rahm won two majors and posted three additional top-five performances.
