The Toronto Raptors signed guard Jamal Shead to a three-year, $24-million extension, the team announced Thursday.
Shead was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2026-27 season. His extension begins in 2027-28.
"From the 45th pick in the draft to the integral role he has carved out with our team, Jamal's leadership, hard work, and tenacity earned this," Raptors general manager Bobby Webster said in a statement. "We're thrilled he'll be a Raptor for seasons to come."
The 24-year-old averaged 6.6 points and 5.4 assists last season in 22.6 minutes per game. His 354 assists off the bench led the NBA, and he finished 12th in Sixth Man of the Year voting.
Shead elevated his game in the first round of the postseason, averaging nine points and five assists in 32 minutes per contest as the Raptors were eliminated in seven games by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Sacramento Kings selected Shead 45th overall in 2024 before the Raptors acquired him in a draft-day trade.
