Chicago Bears receiver Luther Burden III is expected to miss the entire preseason after sustaining a groin injury in practice, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

The Bears expect Burden to be ready for their regular-season opener Sept. 13 against the Carolina Panthers.

Burden got tangled up with cornerback Tyrique Stevenson on the final rep of a one-on-one drill Saturday as the defensive back broke up a pass from Caleb Williams.

Burden walked off the field under his own power following the play but didn't return for the remainder of practice. Stevenson, who landed on his back and remained on the ground for several minutes, eventually rejoined team drills after receiving treatment on the sideline.

The Missouri product showed flashes of his potential during his rookie campaign, recording 47 catches for 652 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games.

Burden's injury is the latest in a training camp filled with them for Chicago. Safety Coby Bryant is expected to be sidelined for 8-10 weeks after hyperextending his left knee and suffering a bone bruise in practice. Cam Lewis, who was filling in for Bryant, left practice Saturday with an undisclosed ailment.

Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen said that Lewis' injury isn't serious but declined to provide details on his return timeline.
