Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald will make his season debut against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
Donald, who sat out the Rams' season opener in Australia, will take the field for the first time since ending his two-year retirement in August. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year is expected to play 30 snaps against the Giants, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
However, the Rams will be without star receiver Puka Nacua, who is inactive due to a hip injury. The All-Pro wideout was listed as questionable ahead of Monday's matchup after missing practice Friday and Saturday.
The Rams receive a huge boost with Donald joining their defensive line rotation. Los Angeles placed pass-rusher Myles Garrett on injured reserve following the team's season-opening 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Head coach Sean McVay described Nacua's injury as groin soreness and said it's separate from the psoas injury that caused him to miss time during training camp.
Nacua led the Rams with five catches for 74 yards against the Niners.
Konata Mumpfield is expected to take on a larger role Monday with Nacua sidelined. The Rams will also be without Jordan Whittington, who is inactive because of a quadriceps injury. Davante Adams, Tutu Atwell, and Xavier Smith will headline the Rams' receiving corps against the Giants.
