Colts' Pierce suffers heel injury in loss to Chiefs

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce couldn't finish Sunday night's 33-30 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs due to a left heel injury.

Pierce hopped off the field before being carted to the locker room during the first half.

X-rays on Pierce's heel came back negative, but he'll undergo more testing Monday, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Pierce had offseason surgery on his left ankle. The procedure kept the pass-catcher sidelined for the majority of the summer, with his first practice not occurring until Aug. 27.

Pierce signed a four-year, $114-million contract in March after having a breakout 2025 campaign. The 26-year-old recorded 47 catches for 1,003 yards, giving him a league-high average of 21.3 yards per reception.

He caught his lone target for 11 yards prior to his exit Sunday. Pierce also reeled in four catches for 61 yards in the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
