Defensive Player of the Year Angel Reese of the Atlanta Dream and Las Vegas Aces All-Star A'ja Wilson were among five players selected for WNBA All-Defensive first-team honors, the league announced Thursday.
Reese and Wilson, who also recently earned a WNBA-record fifth MVP award, are joined on the first team by Washington Mystics center Shakira Austin, Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams, and Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard.
Reese, whose All-Defensive nod is the first in her budding career, has led the league in rebounding each of her first three seasons. She recorded 12.1 boards per game this year.
Wilson finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting behind Reese and Williams. The three-time DPOY averaged 9.4 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, and 1.4 steals across 41 contests in 2026.
The second team is comprised of Williams' Valkyries teammates Veronica Burton and Kiah Stokes as well as seven-time All-Defensive selection Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty, Mystics star Sonia Citron, and Dream guard Jordin Canada.
Six players set to compete in the WNBA Finals made the cut, with three representatives each from the Dream and Valkyries. The best-of-seven series gets underway Saturday at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
