After getting his first win Sunday, Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken gave a blunt response to those who believed this would be the same old Browns team.
"Browns are gonna Browns? F--k that," Monken said after Cleveland's 23-19 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi. "So, the guys took that to heart."
Monken's comments came after former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on an NBC broadcast following Cleveland's Week 1 loss, "In the words of my friend JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Browns is the Browns."
The first-year head coach said Tuesday that he didn't see it the same way as Tomlin, responding, "That's not Browns being Browns, that's Browns being poorly on one week," according to Pro Football Talk's Myles Simmons.
Tomlin reacted to Monken's postgame remarks on the Sunday Night Football pregame show.
"I'm glad I can still motivate, although I'm not coaching anymore," Tomlin said.
